Transition Tools

Intro———-Nuclear Technologies———-Carbon Capture———-Artificial Intelligence

With renewables and biomass accounting for less than 15% of the world’s energy mix in 2018 and less than 30% of the world’s electricity mix in 2019– a significant transition phase from fossil fuels to greener sources of energy will be necessary.

This transition will take time, especially if we plan on maintaining the current quality of life levels in developed countries, and spreading that across the globe. Unfortunately, we’re running out of time, so we have to consider all low-emission energy sources, GHG-reducing processes, and energy efficiency measures currently available.

In the following sections, we’ll take a look at some of the tools that can help us reduce our impacts while we transition to more sustainable societies – and for some tools, even afterward.
