Petitions

Once they rack up enough signatures, petitions can help influence large scale decision-making. They’re among the most effective ways for individuals to express their support or concern over government policies.

What’s often missing for individuals isn’t the willpower to sign petitions, but the energy and/or resourcefulness to find them online. To address that, we’ve assembled a list of the largest environmental petition makers below. Check out their websites and get signing!

  • Greenpeace – simply find your country and the appropriate petitions should pop up. Note that Greenpeace international has a few more resources for individuals that want to take it to the next level.
  • 350.org – simply find your country and the appropriate petitions should pop up.
  • Avaaz – petitions should pop up right away.
  • Care2 Petitions – a few petitions should pop up right away, but you can also browse for more.
  • Rainforest Action Network – check out the campaigns to find all of RAN’s petitions.
